Government Funding -

​

We offer funded places on a stretched basis only. This means you can receive:

 

• Up to 11 hours or up to 22 hours of funded childcare per week, depending on your child’s age and the type of funding you qualify for.

 

• Stretched funding applies for 51 weeks per year and excludes the Christmas week (when we are closed). No charges will apply during this week.

• ​

 If you are eligible for the Extended Funding, you can claim Universal Funding to a maximum of 11 hours, then Extended Funding from 12 hours to 22 hours per week (this funding is also stretched throughout the year), depending on the sessions that your child attends - the additional service charge is still applicable for funded hours attended. Non-funded hours are charged at £8.65.

 Applying for funding: It is the responsibility of parents to apply for extended or working family funding in the term before the funding begins. It is also the responsibility of parents to reconfirm their eligibility every 3 months.

 

When your child can get funding –

 

Funding starts from the term after your child reaches:

 

• 9 months old – Working Family Expanded Entitlement

• 2 years old – Eligible two-year-olds (Working Family or certain benefits)

• 3 years old – 15-hour Universal Entitlement and 30-hour Extended Entitlement

 

 Additional services-

For children receiving funding, an Additional Service Charge applies per funded hour. Bournemouth Montessori Centre charges a set amount per hour for a child’s place. The Additional Service Charge ensures we can continue to offer high-quality teaching. 

This charge supports a range of enhanced services, including cookery, clay and art activities, open snack times throughout the day, and general consumables such as paper towels, gloves, and sun cream for the summer. It also helps cover staff training and ensures children are taught by Montessori-trained staff.
